The 4th Annual Summer Showcase Charity Horse Show, held July 10–12, 2026, at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds in Greensburg, was a tremendous success, with increased attendance and entries throughout the weekend. Most importantly, the event created a special opportunity for Making Strides students to celebrate their accomplishments in the arena.
Friday Night: Student Showcase
The weekend began with one of the most meaningful traditions of the horse show: the Student Showcase.
Making Strides students participating in adaptive riding had the opportunity to ride in the show arena and demonstrate the skills they have developed through their lessons. Surrounded by family, friends, volunteers, and community supporters, our riders had a beautiful evening to celebrate their accomplishments.
The Student Showcase is a special reminder of what makes our horse show unique. While the weekend includes plenty of exciting competition, the event is also about creating opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities to participate, be recognized, and experience the joy of riding.
Saturday & Sunday: A Full Schedule of Competition
Saturday featured a variety of English and Western performance classes, giving exhibitors opportunities to compete across multiple divisions. Saturday evening brought back a fan-favorite with a costume class benefiting Saving Grace Equine Rescue, giving exhibitors the chance to show off their creativity while supporting another organization doing important work for horses in need. The evening continued with barrel and timed events, bringing plenty of excitement to the arena as riders raced against the clock.
Sunday wrapped up the weekend with additional English and Western classes, giving exhibitors one more opportunity to compete, earn class placings, and enjoy time with fellow riders and horse enthusiasts.
Spectators and exhibitors could visit local food trucks and concessions, browse onsite tack and Western vendors, participate in raffles, and spend time with friends and family throughout the weekend.
Relive the Summer Showcase
From the excitement of the Student Showcase to the final classes of the weekend, the Summer Showcase was filled with moments worth remembering.
The Summer Showcase Charity Horse Show is more than a weekend of competition. It is an opportunity to bring people together, celebrate riders of all abilities, and raise support for the work of Making Strides Foundation.
We are proud of what the Summer Showcase continues to represent and grateful to everyone who helps make it possible. 💙🐴
A Community Effort
An event like the Summer Showcase doesn’t happen without an incredible community behind it.
Making Strides Foundation extends a heartfelt thank you to every rider, family, volunteer, staff member, vendor, sponsor, and spectator who helped make the 4th Annual Summer Showcase Charity Horse Show a success.
A special thank you goes to everyone who helped make Friday night’s Student Showcase possible. Giving our students the opportunity to ride in the arena, celebrate their accomplishments, and share that experience with the people who support them is at the heart of this event.
