Learn more about our beloved therapy horses
Peanut
"Peanut" is a 21 year old, roan colored, Quarter Horse mare (girl). She is as sweet and reliable as they come! Peanut was previously owned and loved by long time friends of Jill's and was primarily used as a trail riding horse. Peanut's previous owners thought the Making Strides Foundation was the perfect fit for Peanut's retirement job and boy, were they right!

Dallas
"Dallas" is a 19 year old Quarter Horse mare. Jill has owned Dallas for 15 years. Together, they competed in the Quarter Horse Association circuits very successfully. Dallas and Jill still compete together a few times a year. More recently, Dallas has enjoyed semi-retirement as one of our horses in our adaptive riding program. Her extensive training makes her suitable for any level rider.
Sierra
"Sierra" is a 13 year old palomino Quarter Horse mare. She is super sweet and loves attention. She stands quietly for off-the-horse activities and is suitable for our therapy sessions and riding programs.
Lady
"Lady" is an 19 year old, bay colored, Quarter Horse mare. She is so kind and gentle with everyone!
Lady is a retired show horse and loves her new job as a therapy assistant. She is steady, consistent, and suitable for practically anyone.
Sid
"Sid" is a 13 year old Quarter Horse gelding (boy). He has a unique white marking on his muzzle and is a beautiful sorrel color. We love Sid for his slow and steady gait and sweet personality. Sid is both a therapy assistant and adaptive riding partner.
Maple
"Maple" is one of the newest members of our herd. Maple is a 15 year old draft-cross pony. She has a stocky build and great movement which provides excellent sensory input for our riders. She is brave, kind, and loves to be brushed. Maple will be assisting with our occupational, speech, and physical therapy sessions for 2024.
Lacey
"Lacey" is one of the newest members of our herd. She is a 20 year old American paint horse. She was a barrel racing pony before retirement. She has a sweet, kind demeanor, loves treats and is the perfect size for our therapy program. She will be used for hippotherapy as well as group programs at Making Strides Foundation.
